BHUBANESWAR: At least two children died and 55 others were critically taken ill after they consumed contaminated water supplied by a State Government agency in Sindheikela village in Bolangir district on Saturday. The victims have been identified as Rakesh Sahoo (2) and Jharita Behera (4). Four children were shifted to VSS Medical College Hospital, Burla. Of 55 affected persons, 15 were children.The villagers drank the water provided by Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) wing from Under River. It is alleged that water was being supplied to the villagers without getting it treated.In the morning, affected villagers complained of stomachache.
