Vivekananda jayanthi celebrated

MADURAI: Swami Vivekananda jayanthi was celebrated at Ramakrishna Mutt on Tuesday.

Presiding over the celebration, the mutt president, Kamalatmananda, said that the country had witnessed the birth of many spiritual and social leaders but Sami Vivekananda was a combination of the two. Though Swami Vivekananda lived for 39 years, he had given spiritual and social thoughts that were relevant even for 3000 years, he said.

As part of the celebration, special pujas and bhajans were organised.

Students of Bathirakaliamman Matriculation Higher Secondary School and Kakkai Padiniyar Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School performed cultural programmes.
