Diverse protests by Congress workers

HYDERABAD: On a day of drama on Sunday, contrasting behaviour of Congress workers was discernible.

While a group of city Congress workers raided the apartment where Narsapur MP Chegondi Harirama Jogaiah resides, protesting his allegations of corruption against Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, AP Youth Congress (APYC) workers resorted to novel protest to denounce actions of the senior MP.

APYC workers led by their president T.J. R. Sudhakar Babu adopted ‘Gandhigiri’ to drive home the point that actions of the Narsapur MP were detrimental to the interest of the party. It was a symbolic statement, said Mr. Sudhakar Babu.

They staged a silent demonstration and later swept the floors of Gandhi Bhavan, the party headquarters, as a symbolic act of cleansing the party of bad leaders.
