PUDUCHERRY: Director-General of Police gave away awards to beat police personnel for the month of December. The award for the best beat constable was given to Sivaraman attached to the Orleanpet police station and the award for the best intelligence gathering officer was given to M. Pachaiappan of the Special Branch. The award for the best driver was given to Thiruvarasan. RetirementThe DGP also honoured four officers, who retired from service, at a function organised in his chamber. The policemen who retired include senior account officer V. Amirthasamy, Sub-Inspector Payol Charles and special grade driver M. Bharathan, a release said.
