Accident victim’s family gets 9-lakh relief

New Delhi: A court here has ordered the Oriental Insurance Corporation (OIC) to pay a compensation of Rs.9 lakh to the family of a motorcyclist crushed by a bus two years ago. Motor Accident Claims Tribunal Judge Dilbagh Singh asked OIC to pay a total compensation of Rs.9 lakh to Ram Dutt’s wife Brahamwati, her three daughters Sunita, Rachna and Kamini and son Ashwani. Brahamwati had filed a petition on May 24, 2006, citing her husband’s death and claimed a compensation of Rs.25 lakh. - PTI
