UoH signs pact with French university
HYDERABAD: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) and the Université de Bretagne sud (UBS), France signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that allows faculty and student exchange, research collaboration, joint research workshops, symposia and seminars.
Prof. Seyed E Hasnain, Vice-Chancellor, UoH and Prof. Èric Martin, President, UBS signed the MoU in New Delhi in the presence of Valérie Pécresse, French Minister for Higher Education.
Its significance
According to a statement, the MoU assumes significance in the context of importance attached to Indo-French relations and the visit of President of France Nicolas Sarkozy.
The Minister while mentioning UoH among other institutions of higher learning in India highlighted the need for more opportunities for Indian students to study in France and vice versa.
Scholarships and opportunities for work were some of the indicative measures which she highlighted as facilitating better relations in the higher education sector.
