This Day That Age
The Winter Horticultural Show organised by the Mysore Horticultural Society at the Glass House, Lal Bagh Gardens, on February 1, provided ample evidence of the wealth of fruit, flower, vegetable and other garden products for which the State in general, and Bangalore city and its suburbs in particular, are rightly famous in South India. As many as 195 prizes in the shape of silver shields, cups and cash awards to the winners in various sections of the show were presented. The present show has been adjudged above normal, and the fruit and vegetable sections were particularly well represented. The Sathyanarayana Agricultural Farm, Munirabad, exhibited nearly 30 varieties of plantains and was awarded a special prize for the variety and excellence of the products.
