Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: The State committee meeting of Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Sunday unanimously approved the organisational report to be presented at the party State conference to be held in Kottayam from February 11 to 14. Party sources said the assessment of the CPI(M) was that factionalism which had afflicted it, could be curtailed considerably after the last State meet held in Malappuram. However, certain factional trends still remained which would be resolved by the conclusion of the State meet in Kottayam, the sources said. The last meeting of the existing State committee is being held to review the conduct of party meetings from the branch committees to the district level. The party was of the view that the conduct of meetings was in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Polit Bureau but for a few aberrations which were later corrected as in the case of Thiruvananthapuram district, where the list of delegates for the State meet was revised. — PTI
