Music academy inauguration

BANGALORE: M.R. Doreswamy Music Academy, named after the flute maestro, will be inaugurated on February 8.

A three-day music festival, showcasing several well-known flutists will be held at Gayana Samaj on K.R. Road, to mark the occasion.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, the general secretary of the academy, S. Swarnalatha, said that the academy aims at promoting Carnatic music in the city. The festival comprises nine flute recitals performed by prominent artistes B.K. Anantharam, S.A. Shashidhar, S. Supradeep, L.V. Mukund, Ashwini K., N.R. Narasimha Murthy, G. Rajanarayan N.K. Pranesh, A.P. Sarvotham, Amith A. Nadig and S. Venugopal.
