Health camp for jail inmates

L. Renganathan

KULITHALAI: A health camp was conducted for the Kulithalai sub-jail inmates recently under ‘Varumun Kappom’ scheme.

Pointing out that people rarely show interest in maintaining their health, Deputy Inspector-General of Prisons, Tiruchi Range, B. M. Ezra, said only when some illness afflicted them, do they rush for treatment.

He called upon the inmates to utilise the camp. Lauding the cleanliness at the sub-jail, Mr. Ezra urged the inmates and officials to keep their body clean and healthy.

He had asked prison officials in the Tiruchi range to conduct special health camps in other prisons and sub-jails as well.

The DIG also launched a mobile library. Through the facility, the inmates could get books from the District Central Library.
