Sundar Raman scalps five

Chennai: V. Sundar Raman picked up five wickets for 44 runs to take SRM University to the semifinals of the all-India inter-zone inter-University cricket tournament, beating Ranchi University by 150 runs.

University of Mumbai and Guru Nanak Dev University also made it to the semifinals.

The scores: SRM 265 bt Ranchi 115 in 38.1 overs (V. Sundar Raman five for 44); Saurashtra 187 lost to GNDU 188 for eight in 60 overs (Sumit Sharma 40, Kuldeep Sharma three for 53); Mumbai 311 bt CCS (Meerut) 176 in 66.5 overs (Sekar Giri 45, Subash Chand 40 not out, Ankeet Chavan four for 37, Dinar Gaonkar three for 27).
