Mazzini, Pando excel
NEW DELHI: Gerardo Mazzini (5) and Carlos Pando (4) stole the show as Elevation edged past Jindal/Chougan 9 goals to 8 1/2 in the final of the Hindustan Times Trophy 14-goal polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground here on Sunday.
Elevation was consistent through the match, especially in the fast paced fifth chukker when it matched the challenge of Jindal/Chougan with two goals, ensuring its marginal supremacy.
Basheer Ali (4), Hamza Ali (2) and Simran Shergill were the marksmen for the loser that had started with a 1 1/2 goal handicap advantage.
Hamza Ali was adjudged the ‘most valuable player’, while Migula, owned by Satinder Garcha, was declared the ’best polo pony’.
Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor gave away the prizes.
