Various school building works to be completed before March end

KARUR: A total of 15 school buildings are being constructed in Karur district with NABARD’s assistance at a cost of Rs.10.56 crore.
While six works have been completed, the rest nine would be completed before the end of March, according to Collector T.N. Venkatesh.
Completed works
The Collector observed that the completed works included 18 classrooms, Science laboratory and lavatory at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Pugalur, at a cost of Rs.80.84 lakh, 22 classroom buildings, and similar facilities at the Boys’ Higher Secondary School there at a cost of Rs.93.48 lakh, eight classroom and same facilities at the Noyyal Government School at a cost of Rs.43.78 lakh and 16 classroom buildings and laboratory and lavatory costing Rs.72.70 lakh.
Works that were progressing included 18-classroom facility at the Kulithalai Government Girls Higher Secondary School at a cost of Rs.80.84 lakh, similar works at the Boys’ higher secondary school, Rs.58.24 lakh worth work on constructing 12 classroom buildings at the Government Higher Secondary School, Kaniyalampatti, and in other schools.
