“Retrieve Katchathivu”

CHENNAI: Youth wing of the Pattali Makkal Katchi will organise a slogan shouting demonstration in Rameswaram on February 5 urging the Central Government to retrieve Katchathivu.

Party president G.K. Mani in a statement here on Sunday said that as per the agreement between India and Sri Lanka, fishermen from the country should be permitted to fish near Katchathivu and also to dry their fishing nets in the island. But the Sri Lankan Navy was not only preventing Indian fishermen from fishing around the island but also indulging in firing at them when they were found near the island.
