Time to celebrate: Students of JIPMER at the pre-graduation day function of the institute. PUDUCHERRY: It was an unforgettable evening for doctors, students and interns of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), who sang and danced at their annual pre-graduation ceremony held recently. MemorableThe celebrations, held at the Lister Square from 6.30 p.m. onwards, were colourful and a memorable occasion for the outgoing students. The items presented at the evening programme included title tracks of Chak de India, Om Shanti Om and Don. They danced to folk songs and popular Tamil film numbers, including ‘Mukabula’. For the students stepping out of the institution after five and a half years of studying at JIPMER, it was a time to recall happy times spent with friends on the campus. The outgoing batch, which stood right in front, watched the goings-on and had their share of song and dance too. The weeks before the pre-graduation ceremony saw a kind of role reversal, with the students imparting lessons to others on how to shake a leg.
