Uniyal wrecks Hyderabad Heroes

HYDERABAD: Amit Uniyal’s Man of the Match-winning haul of four for 31 helped Chandigarh Lions post a six-wicket victory over Hyderabad Heroes in the eighth match of the ICL 50s cricket at the Lahari Resorts here on Sunday.

Put into bat, Hyderabad lost opener Shashank Nag early. The duo of P.S. Niranjan and skipper Anirudh Singh stabilised the home side innings, which folded up at 222.

In reply, the Lions set a blistering pace as opener Manish Sharma cracked 48 off 44 balls that included eight fours and two sixes. The visitor reached the target with six overs to spare.

The scores: Hyderabad Heroes 222 in 49.4 overs (P.S. Niranjan 87, Amit Uniyal four for 31) lost to Chandigarh Lions 223 for four in 34 overs (Manish Sharma 48, T.P. Singh 48). — Special Correspondent
