Mumbai Champs posts win

Chennai: Mumbai Champs defeated Kolkata Tigers by 54 runs in the ICL 50s cricket tournament at Mayajaal, near here, on Sunday.

Shridhar Iyer picked up four wickets for 39 runs for Mumbai Champs and was declared Man of the Match.

Batting first, Champs was dismissed for 257 in 45.1 overs. Continuing his good form, Dheeraj Jadhav struck a 73-ball 59 that included four boundaries.

Captain Kiran Powar made 60 and was involved in a 96-run partnership with Nikhil Mandale for the sixth wicket.

In response, Kolkata Tigers was reeling at 95 for four in the 21st over, with Iyer scalping three of the first four wickets to fall.

Tigers struggled thereafter and was bowled out in the 41st over. Shreyas Khanolkar also picked up four wickets.

The scores: Mumbai Champs 257 in 45.1 overs (Kiran Powar 60, Dheeraj Jadhav 59) bt Kolkata Tigers 203 in 40.4 overs (Shridhar Iyer four for 39, Shreyas Khanolkar four for 45).
