The police have also taken up a case under the Juvenile Justice Act Student-offender’s house wears deserted look BANGALORE: Girinagar police have registered a suo motu complaint pertaining to the shooting incident in which two schoolchildren were injured on Saturday though the parents of the injured students are yet to lodge a police complaint. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), S. Ravi, the parents of the victims were not willing to file any complaint against the schoolmate. “We waited till the night before registering a case against the boy. We have taken up a case of causing hurt,” Mr. Ravi told The Hindu. The police have also taken up a case under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act. The boy is likely to be produced along with his parents before the Juvenile Justice Board on Monday. On Saturday, the boy, studying in Class 10 in a private school, caused injuries to two of his classmates when he fired shots at them from an airgun. While one was hit on the thigh, the other suffered a hit in the arm. The injured students received treatment at the Victoria Hospital. The house of the 10th standard student-offender was locked on Sunday. “We have not seen them in the house since yesterday (Saturday) evening,” said a neighbour. The boy’s father is said to be an engineer while his mother is a doctor. The tent in which the boy stayed and the one-foot by one-foot target on the terrace were found intact.
