Seema Bal Mela for a noble cause

Madhur Tankha

NEW DELHI: To commemorate the 45th Anniversary Day of the Sashastra Seema Bal, the SSB Wives’ Welfare Association is organising a special four-day mela at Dilli Haat here beginning this Friday.

Bringing in exclusive items from the Indo-Nepal and Bhutan border areas, the “SSB Mela” is being organised for a noble cause. It will keep in mind persons affected during operations conducted by SSB. The proceeds from the sale will be utilised to promote programming and raise funds for the welfare of differently-abled personnel, rehabilitate widows and mentally challenged children.

Thirty colourful stalls will display a wide array of items including the famous Madhubani paintings, cane furniture, brassware and glass painting. The mela will also showcase embroidery, bamboo crafts, paper crafts, root crafts, handicrafts etc. For health-conscious visitors, the stalls will also put up fruit extracts, juices and concoctions. Exclusive variety of rice, cereals and food flavour will also be up for grabs.
