The art of highlighting an issue

BANGALORE: The United Nations Population Fund — India (UNFPA) and CMS Research House, New Delhi, have jointly organised a national-level painting competition for art students. The theme is , “Delighting in Daughters”.
Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, R.V.V. Krishna Rao of CMS Research House said the competition was open to final year students of Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA). The students will have to highlight the positive portrayal of the girl child through their paintings.
Mr. Rao said that 17 final year art students had been selected for the competition from BangaloreThe first three prizes will carry a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively. Fifty-five nominated painters will receive Rs. 5,000 and a certificate.
