BANGALORE: A 63-year-old woman, who worked as a marriage broker, was found murdered on Anjaneya Temple Street near Ulsoor Gate police station on Saturday. According to the police, Chandramma was staying alone in a flat on the first floor of a three-storeyed building. The owner of the building was staying next to her flat. The police said that on Saturday Chandramma went to the house of a neighbour and showed the new sari that she had purchased. A person came to her flat soon after she returned from neighbour’s house. On Sunday, a maid saw the front door of Chandramma’s flat open. She went inside and found Chandramma lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The police said Chandramma’s throat had been slit using a knife. They said cash and ornaments kept in a locker were missing. The police said Chandramma had lost her husband in 1996. All her five daughters were married and one of them stayed near Chandramma’s house. The police are looking into the involvement of a gang that had looted valuables in a similar way.
