Nagercoil: Packer Cricket Club beat Kumari Cricket Club by 36 runs in the Canara Bank-Kanyakumari DCA first division cricket league at Kanyakumari on Sunday.

The scores: Packer CC 159 in 35.2 overs (Arun B. Karaol 51) bt Kumari CC 123 in 33 overs (A. Ilango 67); Sunny Colts CC 142 in 29.2 overs (Tausique 43) lost to Packer Colts 143 for six in 31 overs (Jerash 45 not out).

At Madurai, P. Uma Maheswaran on the boys’ above-14 title in the State-level chess tournament for boys and girls.
