Central Excise posts win

Bangalore: Central Excise defeated COE 3-2 in a Field Marshall Cariappa Memorial hockey tournament match at the KSHA Stadium here on Monday.

P.A. Aiyappa (13th minute), P.M. Mandanna (21st) and Bikrampal Singh (63rd) scored for the winner, while Dinesh struck a brace for COE in the 39th and 54th minutes.

In another match, KSP defeated MLI 3-1. Mohan Kumar (third), Chetan Kumar (46th) and Roshan Madappa (52nd) scored for KSP, while Krishna Patil reduced the margin in the 57th minute.

PRC triumphs

Parachute Regiment School (PRC) won the Columbia Asia inter-School football tournament here on Sunday.

In the final PRC defeated K.V. Hebbal School 1-0. Nikhil scored the match-winner in the ninth minute.

Other results:

Semifinals: PRC bt Presidency School 3-0; K.V. Hebbal School bt Vidyaniketan School 1-0.

Football tournament

The Roots Sports inter-corporate football tournament will be held from February 23 to March 2 during weekends. The matches will be conducted at the PESIT Ground in Banashankari. Entries close on February 18. For details, contact Deep on 9900119750.

Thamaraikannan FC and Students Union FC were locked in a goalless draw in a State ‘C’ division football league match here on Monday.

Win for St. Anthony’s

St. Anthony’s High School (Hubli) and KPES High School (Dharwad) won their respective matches in the KSCA Dharwad Zone under-15 inter-School cricket tournament at Hubli and Dharwad respectively on Monday.

St. Anthony’s won over Shanthi Sadan School by 149 runs, while KPES High School defeated KDO Jain English Medium School by 36 runs.

St. Anthony’s HS 218 in 27 overs (P. Ketan 33) bt Shanthi Sadan HS 69 in 10.30 overs (Ketan five for 26, Rakesh three for 25); KPESHS 173 in 26 overs (Abhijiti Mahale 80, K. Vijay four for 25) bt KDO Jain EMS 137 in 32 overs (Pavan Munavalli four for 22).
