“Include Southern Splendour in rly. budget”

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has urged the Union Railway Ministry to include Southern Splendour project in the Railway budget of the next financial year and issue necessary instructions to the officials to ensure availability of rolling stock.

He has agreed to the new policy of payment of haulage costs for operating the luxury train in place of revenue sharing.

The Union Ministry should bear 50 per cent of the capital cost involved in the project as the luxury train would cover Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa and Pondicherry .
