Enterprise applications lab launched

CHENNAI: Zylog Sytems, a technology solution provider, inaugurated the state-of-the-art facility, with an investment of Rs. 30 crore at the IT corridor in Sholinganallur near Chennai on Monday. The new facility is spread over 1.1 acres of land and will be the Zylog’s biggest facility in India with 85,000 sq ft of built-in area. It has a seating capacity of 850 employees. The company plans to recruit 4,000 more in India over a period, which will substantially enhance its global strength.

Inaugurating the new facility at Sholinganallur, Sudarshan Venkatraman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, told presspersons here on Monday, the company raised Rs. 125 crore through the initial public offering last year, which was used for developing infrastructure, business acquisitions and working capital.

Of the total amount, Rs. 67 crore was earmarked for infrastructure development, which included Rs. 23 crore for Sholinganallur facility and Rs. 44 crore would be spent on the second facility at Siruseri near Chennai. The company proposed to come up with a built-up area of 1.25 sq ft of office space, which could accommodate 1,400 people.

He said, Rs. 50 crore was earmarked for business acquisition. It had already spent Rs. 17 crore on acquiring one company each in India and the U.K. The balance amount would be used for future takeovers.

R&D centre

Mr. Venkatraman said the company launched its innovative development of enterprise applications lab and a software R&D centre. He said a strategic partnership had been struck with National Service Alliance (NSA) for providing solutions for the consumer electronics industry.

Zylog Systems and NSA would utilise its combined strengths in developing CE accelerator, a unique platform that interconnects all the key constituents of the consumer electronics industry. The lab would provide value added R&D outsourcing services with 50 engineers.
