Cluny School student bags silver in table tennis championship

PUDUCHERRY: R. Jenifer Jacqueline of Standard IX of St. Joseph of Cluny School won the silver medal in the 53rd National School Games Table Tennis Championship held in Mizoram.

Another student from the school, K.R. Anjana of Standard V participated in the 36th state-level tennis ranking tournament and won the under-14 singles title.

Students of Alpha Matriculation Higher Secondary School participated in the International Assessments for Indian Schools 2007-08 and won the University of New South Wales Awards. The Assessment was developed by the Educational Assessment of the University of South Wales and is targeted at students from Standards III to XI. The programme us held to assess a student’s knowledge of subjects such as mathematics, science, English and computer science.

Three students from Petit Seminaire Higher Secondary School – Muthu Shanmugham of Standard IX H, Harish of Standard IX and Surendar of Standard VII – participated in the all-India NCC trekking camp held at Mariyur in Kerala.

Muthu Shanmugham and V. Vengataraman of Standard IX F, both NCC Air Wing cadets, received scholarships from the Director of School Education for their outstanding performance in activities conducted by the NCC in the Union Territory.
