New Vice-Chancellor takes charge

KOCHI: Gangan Prathap, renowned scientist, took charge as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Cochin University of Science and Technology here on Monday. Mr. Prathap was formerly scientist-in-charge, CSIR Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation, Bangalore. Winner of several prestigious awards including the S.S. Bhatnagar Prize in Science and Technology (1990), he had done commendable research in the field of non-linear structural mechanics and finite elements. — Staff Reporter
