CUTTACK: The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India, the largest insurance company of the country on Monday launched its first health-related product called “Health Plus”, which is a unit linked health insurance plan. “The ambitious product provides hospital cash benefit (HCB), major surgical benefit (MSB) and domiciliary treatment benefit (DTB) to the policy holders which is open for anybody between 18 to 55 years of age and for their children between three months to 17 years”, said the LIC Cuttack senior divisional manager Sidhartha Mohanty. Anybody in the family suffering from any diseases and getting treatment in any hospital can get the benefits of the product, Mohanty said. The policy would be sold for a minimum annual premium of Rs 5000 for a single insurer, Rs 7500 for two and Rs 10,000 for the entire family. Since the policy is unit-linked, the funds would be invested in Health Plus fund and would begin with NAV of Rs 10, Mohanty informed.
