Energy theft detected at poultry farm

A surprise inspection by officials of Madurai Enforcement Circle, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, detected a case of energy theft recently.

It was found that a poultry farm at Ramaiyanpatti in Vadipatti section had caused losses to the State exchequer, stimated at Rs. 1,06,808, which was collected from the consumer.

The consumer also came forward to pay Rs. 12,000, which resulted in dropping of criminal cases, a TNEB press release said.
