AIADMK allots 3 wards to MDMK

The party plans demonstration at Chidambaram
CHENNAI: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has allotted to the Marumarlarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam three wards in the unions of Tirumanur (in Perambalur district), Andanallur and Lalgudi (Tiruchi), where local body by-elections are slated for February 20.
One ward in the Tiruvarankulam union (Pudukottai district) has been earmarked for the Moovender Munnetra Kazhagam, according to a statement issued by AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa on Monday.
In another statement, she said her party would stage a demonstration at Chidambaram on Wednesday protesting against the “failure” of the municipality in performing its duty.
S. Semmalai, organising secretary, would lead the agitation.
