Raj Thackeray anti-national, says Lalu

New Delhi: Dubbing Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Raj Thackeray “anti-national,” Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Monday demanded action against him and his supporters for targeting north Indians in Mumbai and “trying to divide the country.”

At the same time, Mr. Prasad, who met Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh in Mumbai, wanted people to exercise restraint and not to get provoked by “divisive elements.”

He condemned the attack on Amitabh Bachchan’s house after Mr. Raj Thackeray questioned the actor’s loyalties to Maharashtra.

Mr. Prasad also deprecated the attack on Samajwadi Party workers. “The language used by Mr. Raj Thackeray and the action resorted to by his supporters to divide the nation is clearly anti-national,” Mr. Prasad told PTI.
