Madurai: Haryana whipped Daman and Diu 6-0 in the three-team Cluster ‘D’ in the 17th youth (under-21) National football championship for the Dutta Roy Trophy here on Monday. This was the second defeat for Daman and Diu after its loss to Bengal in the first match and as a result, it has bowed out from the championship. The qualifier for the quarterfinal league from this group will be decided in the last match between Haryana and Bengal. In the three-team Cluster ‘C,’ Gujarat beat Puducherry 2-1 for its first win. This was the second defeat for Puducherry. The results: Cluster ‘D’: Haryana 6 (Mintusaha 2, Mintu Sahu 2, Suprasan Samanta, Pradeep) bt Daman and Diu 0; Cluster ‘C’: Gujarat 2 (Samad Butler, Amardeep Singh) bt Puducherry 1 (Udaya Sankar); Cluster ‘G’: Assam 3 (Jibeswar Boro, Manash Manjit Chetia, Sibra Nazary) bt Jharkhand 0; Andaman and Nicobar 1 (Benjamind) bt Jammu and Kashmir 0; Cluster ‘F’: Manipur 3 (Bidyasagar Singh, Riyaskhan, Ngouba Singh) bt Bihar 1 (Nadong Bhutta).
