Tamil Nadu in two finals

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu entered the finals in both the men’s and women’s sections in the senior National and inter-State carrom championship here on Monday.

The results: Semifinals: Men: Tamil Nadu bt U.P. 3-0 (S. Ganesan bt Mohd. Oves 25-13, 8-25, 25-10; B. Radhakrishnan bt Amit Kumar 25-7,16-25,25-7; S. Sakthivel & T.J. Thanga Kumar bt Khursheed Hassan & Mohd. Zeeshan 25-13, 11-25, 25-6); Maharashtra bt Hyderabad 2-1 (Riaz Akbar Ali bt M.A. Hakeem 25-18, 25-5; Sanjay Mande bt D. Ravinder Goud 25-0, 25-9; Vasant Vairalu & Sayyed Mohsin bt L. Surya Prakash & E. Ashok Kumar 20-25, 25-6, 25-6).

Women: Maharashtra bt Bihar 3-0 (Ayesha Mohd bt Kajal Kumari 25-20, 25-24; Preeti Bhatankar bt Sandhya Sinha 6-25, 25-11, 25-12; Y. Jyotsna & Minal Lele bt Guria & Deepika 25-22, 16-25, 25-24); Tamil Nadu bt Hyderabad 2-1 (I. Ilavazhaki bt Ch. Sreenica 25-0, 25-0; M. Parimala Devi lost to Naga Jyothi 25-13; 25-23; P. Manjula & S. Lalitha bt V. Savitha Devi & Aparanjita Rani 25-4, 25-20).
