Plea to change NRHM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A demand has been made for bringing about changes in the National Rural Health Mission to suit the situation prevailing in Kerala. It was made by a seminar organised by the Kerala Sastra Sahithya Parishad. It wanted the plan fund for the implementation of health scheme by the local bodies to be supplemented with the NRHM fund.

It disapproved of the NRHM functioning as a parallel power centre to the Health Department.

President of KSSP T.P.Kunhikannan introduced the topic at the seminar, which was inaugurated by Dr.C.R.Soman.
