Udupi: Superintendent of Police Devajyoti Ray said on Monday that a security plan for protecting the Sri Krishna Math/Temple from terrorist attack had been prepared by his department. He said here that a meeting of the officers and the representatives of the Sri Krishna Math had been called to discuss the issue. The present security plan was a revised version of an earlier security plan for protecting the temple. He said the district administration would then have to call a meeting to seek public opinion on the issue of making Car Street a vehicle-free zone. While the external security of the temple would be taken care by the police, his department would train personnel of the Sri Krishna Math for internal security of the temple.
Speaking to presspersons, Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji of Puttige Math said that experts would be consulted to provide security to the temple. The math had already had consultations with the Police Department in this regard.
