About 80 per cent of the work completed BANGALORE: The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Monday said that it had completed about 80 per cent of the work on the underpass coming up near Cauvery Junction and would probably throw it open for vehicular traffic by Saturday. “We have some amount of finishing work such as covering the drains with slabs and asphalting and strengthening the approach road,” said Chief Engineer (Roads) K.S. Krishna Reddy. Meanwhile, the palike will take up construction of the underpass at the junction near Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) as soon as the shifting of the utility lines is completed. “The pre-cast elements for the underpass are ready. Work on that will take longer as the technique is complicated and entails construction of embankment,” Mr. Reddy said. The palike has started preliminary work for construction of an underpass at the CBI Junction near Ganganagar. Work on service roads are being completed in the area as a precursor to the underpass construction.
