Maria Joseph dead

BANGALORE: The first Rector of Infant Jesus Shrine in Viveknagar and a priest of the archdiocese of Bangalore Rev. Fr. M. Maria Joseph (48) died here on Monday.

Fr. Joseph was admitted to St. John’s Medical College where he died at 12.30 p.m. According to a release, issued by the Archdiocese of Bangalore, Maria Joseph was ordained a priest of the archdiocese in October 1989.

He served as the principal of Lourdes Boys High School, Davangere, for five years and was the parish priest of St. Michael’s Church, Shanthi Nagar, for seven years.

The body will be kept at Infant Jesus Shrine, Vivekanagar, on Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 10.30 a.m.
