Apollo Hospitals, U.S. corp ink MoU
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: Representatives of Apollo Hospitals and U.S.-based Tenet Healthcare Corporation on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding for an exchange programme to learn and share best healthcare practices.
Chairman of Apollo Hospitals, Prathap C. Reddy said the institutions would work together on common issues, including providing the best quality care to every patient. It would be interesting to see if there were lessons from the U.S. for the Indian healthcare system and vice versa.
The MoU calls on both organisations to share their best practices in creating and maintaining healthcare delivery systems through exchange programmes.
They would be aimed at training their high-performing senior management staff to better imbibe techniques and technology in order to incorporate them into their own companies. “We are hoping to make systems more efficient for mutual benefit,” Dr. Reddy said.
Trevor Fetter, President and CEO, Tenet Healthcare Corporation, said Apollo was a natural partner because of its emphasis on quality and innovation.
