DPCC executive hails order

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Executive Committee of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee has lauded the Union Urban Development Ministry’s decision to bring in an order to save the people from sealing and demolition.

Briefing the meeting about the features of the order of the Ministry regarding the Delhi Special Law 2007, DPCC chief J.P. Agarwal said it was under the guidance of party president Sonia Gandhi that the decision had been taken.

The meeting, which was attended among others by Lok Sabha member Krishna Tirath and All-India Congress Committee secretaries Ved Prakash, Alka Lamba and Dalbir Singh, adopted a resolution criticising the BJP-ruled MCD for not implementing the Union Ministry’s direction to stop sealing and demolition operations.

It warned that the Congress workers would go out to every block to make the people aware about the reality on the issue.
