E-learning initiative

Bangalore: Round Table Indiafelicitated Rajendra K. Misra, CEO and Managing Director, Tenet Technologies, and appointed him as an honorary ambassador of the organisation. It also announced a new initiative — Freedom Through Education Plus (FTE+) . It is an e-learning initiative that will cover 500 schools by 2010. The aim is to boost attendance by 100 per cent and achieve an increase of 20 per cent in the pass percentage.

Since the implementation of the Freedom Through Education initiative, the organisation has built more than 1,100 schools, touching five lakhs across the country in cooperation with the State Government under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. A project to build 100 classrooms is under way. — Staff Reporter
