Chitradurga: The Department of Health and Family Welfare has identified 1.88 lakh children below five years of age in the district, who will be administered polio vaccine, Immunisation Officer Shankarappa has said. He was participating in a preparatory meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Amlan Aditya Biswas here on Monday, on the National Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme to be held from February 10 to 12. Mr. Shankarappa said that during the last immunisation programme, the district had achieved 98.9 per cent. He said that for the coming programme, the department had constituted 1,067 vaccination teams and 15 mobile units. As many as 204 supervisors had been appointed for the purpose, he added. Mr. Shankarappa said the vaccine would be administered at vaccination centres on February 10 and door-to-door vaccination service would be made available on February 11 and 12.
