Correspondent

Two-day training classes for Youth Congress workers

VIZIANAGARAM: The two-day training classes for Youth Congress cadre began at the IMA Hall here on Tuesday. Lok Sabha member Botsa Jhansi Lakshmi lighted the lamp to mark the inauguration. Minister for Housing Botsa Satyanarayana, in-charge DCC president and MLC V.V. Rama Rao, local MLA Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy, district Youth Congress president I. Raghu Raju and general secretary Gurana Ayyalu and others were present. Addressing party cadres, Mr. Satyanarayana asked cadres to give wide publicity in villages with regard to welfare programmes, pensions, irrigation projects etc as the TDP leaders launched a vilification campaign against the Government with the sole aim to retain its identity.

A leading vernacular daily too had been writing scurrilous reports and playing the role of Opposition.

As the reports published regularly were biased and far from truth there was every need for the party workers to teach the newspaper a lesson. He advocated the need for vigorous campaigning to circumvent the malignant campaign of the Opposition and the newspaper.

He said the cadres were the strength of the party and their services would be rewarded at an opportune time.

Ms. Jhansi Lakshmi said that party workers must see that the government schemes reached the real beneficiary. Mr. Raghu Raju presided over the meeting.
