Pilgrim-Friendly: TTD Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy inaugurating TTD online seva counter in Amalapuram on Tuesday. Minister Gollapalli Suryarao, ZP Chairman Ch. Venugopalakrishna and others look on. Amalapuram: TTD Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy on Tuesday inaugurated TTD Seva counter, online booking counter to facilitate devotees from Konaseema area to do cottage, ‘Sudarshan’ darshan bookings and other Aarjitha seva bookings. Speaking to media persons after the inauguration, TTD chairman said that MLC Gidugu Rudraraju has put maximum efforts in bringing out TTD seva counter to Amalapuram. He said that after making the Aarjitha seva and other cottage bookings and darshan online, the TTD has succeeded in reducing the rush to some extent. The TTD Chairman announced that they are going to take up Mass Marriages “Kalyanamastu” programme again on March 9 in big scale in the State. He said that the TTD will continue Dalita Govindam programme to keep Dalits in Hinduism mainstream. After inaugurating the TTD seva counter, the Chairman felicitated about 40 Vedic Scholars of Konaseema area, who includes Upadrasta Krishna Murthy and others. Karunakar Reddy said that the TTD would keep the tradition of protecting Veda dharma and culture and encourage Vedic scholars. Ministers Gollapalli Suryarao, Pilli Subashchandra Bose, ZP Chairman Ch. Venugopalakrishna, MLAs Kudipudi Chittabbai, Pamula Rajeswari, Pinipe Viswaroop, Alluri Krishnam Raju, MLCs Gidugu Rudraraju and Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa and others participated in the programme. Dharmika NilayaluKakinada: As part of its mission to protect and propagate Hindu dharma, the TTD will be transforming its marriage halls (‘Kalyanamantapams’) into ‘Hindu Dharmika Prachara Nilayalu’, where events aimed at strengthening Hindu dharma will be organised on a larger scale in addition to performing marriages. This measure is necessitated by the need to prevent a large number of Hindus from joining other faiths, a trend which has been conspicuous since the last four decades, said Mr.Reddy. Speaking at an awareness meeting on ‘Kalyanamastu’ (the TTD’s programme of mass marriages) here on Tuesday, Karunakar Reddy said that the phenomenon of conversions in India had its origin in the medieval times and it became a matter of serious concern in recent years. As the onslaught of Western culture on Indian society became more pronounced, the TTD has been contributing its mite in protecting Hindu dharma. The TTD has also taken up the construction of ‘Hindu Dharmika Gurukula Pathasalalu’ to impart corporate level education free of cost, along with the values of ‘Hindu dharma’. ‘Dalita Govindam’ is another programme being conducted by the TTD to take the God to the doorsteps of those ostracized by the upper castes and thereby prove that God belongs to no particular community or caste. Third phase marriagesAs regards ‘Kalyanamastu’, Karunakar Reddy said that March 9, 2008 has been fixed as the auspicious day for performing the marriages between 9.20 a.m and 9.35 a.m under the third phase. Minister for Social Welfare P. Subhas Chandra Bose complimented the TTD Trust Board chairman for conducting mass marriages and said that the people’s representatives should spread awareness about the same and encourage youths to get married in ‘Kalyanamastu’ programme whose objective is to strengthen the Hindu marriage system. Collector M. Subrahmanyam, Kakinada Mayor K. Saroja, Zilla Parishad Chairman Ch. Venugopala Krishna, MLAs Mutha Gopalakrishna, A. Bullabbai Reddy, D. Venkateswarulu and Krishnarjuna Chowdary, MLC N. Sesha Reddy, TTD special officer for marriages R. Appa Rao and others were present.
