Murder sparks tension

Tension prevailed in Mangulam near Othakadai in the district after a man was stabbed to death by a gang following an altercation.

According to police sources, A. Murugan (23) asked a group of five members riding motorcycles to slow down saying it posed threat to road users. This led to an altercation and the suspects stabbed Murugan who was declared dead when brought to the Government Rajaji Hospital here.

The Othakadai police have registered a case.
