Shooter in observation home

BANGALORE: The 16-year-old schoolboy, who injured two of his schoolmates by shooting from an air gun on February 2, has been shifted to an observation home near Madiwala. He will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board on Thursday. According to an official concerned with the Board’s functioning, the boy was produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, who is one of three members of the Board. He is accused of causing hurt and the police have invoked the provisions of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act. The boy was remanded to the Observation Home and the Board has asked the probationary officer to submit a report on the boy. The police registered a suo motu case.
