Official trapped

BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police have caught the District Manager of Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation in Mandya while allegedly accepting Rs. 10,000 from a transport contractor for passing a bill. M. Narayana Swamy demanded the money from the contractor Manjunatha, who was transporting kerosene in Mandya. On a complaint, the Lokayukta police trapped Assistant Manager Ramesh, who was accepting allegedly on behalf of Swamy. A case has been registered against Swamy and Ramesh under the Prevention of Corruption Act. — Staff Reporter
