BANGALORE: A six-member gang robbed two persons of cash and mobile phones at knifepoint in a quick succession in Rajagopalangar police station limits around midnight on Monday. In a swift action, the police arrested four of the accused. According to the police, the armed men waylaid Padmanabha, a film unit employee, on Andhrahalli Main Road while he was walking towards his Tavarekere residence. They threatened him with a knife and robbed him of Rs. 450 cash and a mobile phone. Later, they stopped another passer-by, Krishna Murthy, and relieved him of Rs. 350 cash and a phone and ran away. The two victims told a motorcycle rider who arrived there about the incident. The motorist immediately called the police. The police rushed to the spot, searched the area and arrested four of the accused Prasanna (18), Naveen (18), Chandru (18) and Rudresh (20), all residents of Rajagopalanagar. Boy killedA six-year-old boy was killed after he was run over by a lorry at Azeez Sait industrial area at Nayandahalli on Mysore Road on Tuesday morning. The police said that around 9.30 a.m. Karan Kumar came under the wheels of the lorry when the driver was taking the vehicle in the reverse. RecoveredThe Hoysala patrol squad of Tilaknagar police station has arrested Ravi alias Iqbal (25) of Lakshman Raunagar on charges of burglary and recovered gold ornaments and electronic goods, all worth Rs. 8.5 lakh. The police said the accused had burgled five houses in BTM Layout, Neelasandra, Bismillahnagar and Austin Town. In another case, the Madivala police have arrested three persons on charges of vehicle theft and recovered from them two cars, a van and motorcycle. The police gave their names as Suresh (31), Srikanth (23) and H.B. Manjunath (22). They had stolen the vehicles from Mahalakshmi Layout, Banaswadi and Hennur police station limits, the police said. ArrestedThe Cubbon Park police have arrested five youths on charges of robbery and recovered from them gold ornaments, eight mobile phones and an autorickshaw, all worth Rs. 1.75 lakh.
