Health is wealth is a familiar proverb. Based on this the Department of public Health and Preventive Medicine is providing all the Health care infrastructure, Nutritional status, Prevention of diseases to the community especially to the rural folk. Govt. has provided nearly 800 to 900 crores under the State budget for the provision of Health care in accordance with nearly 2800 doctors and 3000 nurses were posted. Under the able guidance of the Hon’ble Health Minister and our Director Performance of Public Health department is being appreciated at all levels. The special features of the department are follows: Maternal and Child Health care is one of the main objective of Public Health department is to provide all the MCH care to the community. Very beginning of the A.N. Registration up to Postnatal care and also for the new born care staff is deployed to provide all the medical care, besides providing all the immunization status both to the mother and new born child. An innovative scheme of Dr. Muthulakshimi Reddy Mat. Benefit scheme and J.S.Y. Scheme is being launched to attract and to provide nutritional care especially to the pregnant women of the rural community. Cent percent achievement have been done under all immunization activities. More than this additional doses of Polio through PPI campaign. J.E. Immunization were also performed. Under delivery care system efforts is being taken to modernize PHCs just as Private Nursing homes and through this unstinted efforts nearly 2 lakhs deliveries will be expected through out the state during this year. V.K.T camps: Prevention of diseases is the main motto adhering this, Health camps one for each block ie. 319 camps in each village have been scheduled and being implemented. More than 2.5 lakhs people were benefited and the cases also referred for additional treatment to the higher institutions. Care of Outpatient and inpatients and provision of diet to this fortunate is also carried out. All the antimalarial activities is being performed to eradicate Malaria and fogging operations for Mosquito menace. Outbreak of all diseases such as A.D.D, Cholera is controlled by our efforts and this department is also doing all the preventional activities during Natural diasters such as Tsunami, Flood and cyclone and monsoon periods.
