Online petitions

The system of receiving petitions from the Public has been introduced on line due to the efforts of the present District Collector Thiru.Rajendra Ratnoo,IAS., with effect from 30.04.2007. People residing anywhere can post their petitions online to the District Collectorate, Cuddalore on the website www.cuddalore.tn.nic.in in order to avoid hardships faced by the public. The Head of office of the concerned departments have been directed to send the reply through Online within 30 days from the date of receipt of petitions.

In addition to the above system, a new system of receiving petitions during he Public Grievance Days (Mondays) in the Village level at the office the Village Administrative Officers all over the District has been introduced by the Collector with effect from 1.1.2008. This system aims at saving the travel expenses of the villagers to reach the District Headquarters. Further, the Village Administrative Officers are made more involved with the problems of the petitioners and the confidence with them to the public is increasing. The petitions so received by them in villages are segregated and registered as belonging to Revenue Department and Other Departments. The Village Administrative Officers himself enquired the petitions belonging to Revenue Departments wherever his enquiry is necessary and send them to Taluk Tahsildars with his report for taking final action by the later. Hence these petitions are quality disposed off within 30 days. The petitions pertaining to Collector’s Office and Other Departments are registered Online in the offices of the Taluk Tahsildars on receipt of the same from the Village Administrative Officers and sent to the Collectorate. Then these petitions are sent to the concerned officers and they are bound to take action and give reply to the petitioners in another 15 days. The Collector conducts review on all Public Grievance Days on the progress made by concerned officials without any omission.
