Rehabilitation for the differently abled

Who are differently abled? Those who have above 40% permanent deformity by physically or mentally earlier known as handicapped are now called as differently abled or Special people. These differently abled persons based on their Deformity are classified as (i) Physically Challenged (ii) Mentally Challenged (iii) Visually Challenged (iv) Hearing Impaired. Now there are very good rehabilitation centers run by NGOs and by government.

The present government gives needed facilities for these people by providing “ Maintenance Grant for Mentally Challenged”. Also, in education, placement their 3% reservation has resulted in making many well placed in good jobs.

OASIS trust for the handicapped - Cuddalore is an NGO serving for the education, Nutrition and medical rehabilitation for the differently abled who are either Mentally challenged or hearing impaired or physically challenged. OASIS is the recognized NGO by commissioner for rehabilitation for the disabled Govt. of Tamil Nadu. It serves over 20 years in Cuddalore District and result to is best services in receipts of "“Best Institution National Award” from president of India.
